Investor Risks

Max Crowdfund Risks

Investing in property carries some risk, as does any investment. Max Property Group goes to great lengths to mitigate potential risks, but platform users must be aware that investing in stocks, bonds, funds, and other financial structures involves the risk of loss, including the potential loss of principal. Similarly, for developers, entering into a loan agreement, bond obligation or any other interest agreement incurs a commitment to making interest payments.

Cross-border investing involves additional risks, including greater volatility, and political, economic and currency risks. An individual’s, developer’s, owner’s or institution’s past investment performance is not a guarantee of future performance.

Max Crowdfund does not provide investment advice and/or financial advice, nor does any information contained on the platform constitute a guarantee of performance, complete statement of the matters discussed or the law relating thereto.

Risk mitigation

Project assessment

Max Crowdfund assesses every listing application according to industry established procedures, to ensure a high level of due diligence. An experienced team from financial, legal and accountancy backgrounds test applicants according to rigorous criteria directed at liquidity, regulatory adherence, profitability and project viability.

Transparency

All due diligence documents and investment details are openly available to users, to ensure that investors are able to perform rigorous checks before making an investment decision. Investors’ details are not divulged to developers for marketing, sales or any other purpose. Activities relating to the projects such as past performance, quarterly and annual financials, and funding details are also shared on the platform.

Regulation and legality

Currently we only offer investment opportunities issued by Max Property Group. Once an exemption from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) is granted to operate a crowdfunding platform in the Dutch market, we will allow offerings from third parties as well. Max Property Group aims to obtain the appropriate licenses as soon as possible allowing to operate a crowdfunding platform in all EU countries, after which we aim to obtain licenses for other jurisdictions, such as the USA, Central and South America, Asia and the Middle East.

Only legal and regulatory compliant projects are listed on the platform, following rigorous background checks. Users on the platform are subject to KYC and AML procedures, and a Clearance Level system has been implemented to ensure users can only access platform features according to regulatory guidelines. Country-specific investor restrictions are also adhered to.
